The objective of the summer enrichment program was to provide a variety of experiences that would benefit them as they return to their educational programs in the fall. The children in the Su Casa program do not often get the opportunity to participate in other summer activities. Through the activities at Su Casa, the children are given a chance to explore areas that increase their self-awareness and enrich their experiences.
Su Casa Children from Progreso and Las Milpas commemorated 16 de septiembre with a variety of activities, including "dress up," colorful snack preparation, and a costume parade. Photos coming soon.
Su Casa De Esperanza staff led the celebration for the children and parents as they marked the end of another year for the toddlers. The End of Year Event marked the end of participation in Su Casa programs for some of the toddlers, as they will be going on to the “big” school. The other children will be returning to toddler classes in September.
The celebration was held at both centers. Las Milpas children had their event in the backyard of the center on May 19, and the Progreso children held their event on May 18 at the Progreso City Park. Staff members led the children through various outdoor activities. All children won prizes, books, had their faces painted, ran horse races, blew bubbles, played on the playground equipment, and other fun activities. Parents and their children enjoyed an outdoor picnic of Pizza and Lemonade, followed by a Pinata.
SU CASA DE ESPERANZA TODDLER GRADUATIONS
Forty-one (41) three-year old children completed the Toddler Program (Early Childhood Development) at Su Casa De Esperanza. Graduation activities were held on May 20 and 21, at Las Milpas and Progreso centers. Mothers were honored along with their children for their commitment to their children’s futures.
